How to Overcome Self Sabotage and Acquire Dating Confidence

Successful dating is all about confidence; confidence in how you look but more importantly confidence in who you are. You have to feel that you are "worth it" and that you have "value". If you do not have this sense of inner confidence or inner belief, your own emotions will sabotage your attempts at dating.

Self sabotage isn't a new concept. It is something that many humans are extremely good at. We can stop ourselves from achieving our hearts desire in so very many different ways. A lack of dating confidence may cause one to act in extremely different ways.

Some people will not even make an attempt to date. This person may have a tendency to justify their position by reiterating that they are "happier single" or that they "don't like dating" and so on. This person appears to be confident and totally in control, sophisticated and worldly wise. But underneath they will probably admit that their "I don't care" attitude to dating is more there as a matter of self protection than due to a real desire to be alone. If you consider that a human beings primary instinct is survival of their line, then one knows that to be single is diametrically opposed to this purpose.

In this case the self-sabotage is presented as a form of self-preservation. The belief of "If I don't try I cannot get hurt" does ultimately hurt far more in the long run. To rebuild dating confidence sometimes one has to look at why confidence was lost and seek ways in which to rebuild confidence and learn new dating techniques.

Another form of self sabotage could just as easily be to react in a way which presents an exterior of being a victim. In this case, the person doesn't appear to have stopped trying; rather, they often will be observed actively seeking dates and opportunities to date, but nothing seems to work out. Their own inner beliefs of "nothing ever works for me" or "I don't really deserve to be happy" or whatever else are transmitted into the dating situations subconsciously and a self-fulfilling prophesy ensues.

These are clearly extreme examples of why perhaps dating confidence can be elusive to some and not to others. There are many different reasons why dating confidence can be lost.

For a lot of people it is merely a lack of practice; they have been in a long terms relationship which has ended and are simply feeling rather rusty when faced with flirting once again. Even this however may end up sabotaging your attempts at feeling attractive and enjoying the dating game. Without practice in anything in life, the results will not normally be as good as they would have been with adequate rehearsal.

Rehearsal is the key to success in almost everything in life. The great news is that this rehearsal may not have to be real live practice; it could instead be carried out in ones imagination. Whatever you imagine you create. In the examples of self-sabotage noted earlier, the imagination is what triggered the chain of events which led to the lonely result experienced. If you imagine being rejected, you will ensure that rejection does take place.

This is why confidence lies at the heart of successful dating and overcoming the various forms of self sabotage which abound in dating techniques. If you don't think you are a good conversationalist this creates a barrier to dating. If you do not consider yourself attractive or "worthy" this again puts a rather large spanner in the works.

Dating confidence is actually easy to acquire simply by learning how to rehearse the correct things in your imagination. Correct mental rehearsal is the key to success and you can learn to do this with the help of hypnosis.

Elephants never forget old friends and are social network experts

When it comes to relationships, it seems some elephants never forget. The Asian variety remember old pals and have larger social networks of ‘friends’ than scientists previously thought, a study has shown. Researchers also found that just like humans, some elephants are social butterflies while others prefer to stick to a close-knit group of friends.

Past studies suggested elephants usually live in small groups centred around females and their young while adult males live independently.
However, the study found that though males do live apart, females and their young actually have the sort of complex network of friends, relatives and acquaintances normally seen in humans.Study author Dr Shermin de Silva from the University of Pennsylvania said: ‘Elephants are able to track one another over large distances by calling to each other and using their sense of smell. So the “herd” of elephants one sees at any given time is often only a fragment of a much larger social group. Our work shows that they are able recognize their friends and renew these bonds even after being apart for a long time.’

The study also found that some are more sociable than others and those who had few friends tended to be loyal to them, while those with a larger circle were less so. Researchers studied more than 100 female adult Asian elephants in the Uda Walawe National Park, in Sri Lanka, for 20 months. While many kept the same friends, 16 per cent changed their ‘top five’ associates, the researchers report in the journal BMC Ecology. The study found bond is strong in the dry season and suggested social networks help protect food and water supplies. These are important as elephants eat for 16 hours every day and drink up to 50 gallons of water.

The creatures tended to hang around in larger groups when water was scarce. The bonds were strong enough to drive away unfamiliar elephants away from watering holes. Dr de Silva added: ‘Most individuals have a few strong ties as well as a few consistent ties maintained over several seasons with some of their associates. Individuals do not mix randomly within the population , nor are they always with the same companions, but rather they shuffle amongst a subset of preferred companions.

There are three species of elephant, Asian, African Savannah and African Forest. The Asian variety are smaller and have more compact ears than their African cousins. They have just one finger-like tip on the end of their trunk, unlike the two found on Africans.Elephants communicate with others using grumbles too low for human hears to pick up and the sounds travel up to six miles. They are fascinated by the bones and tusks of dead elephants and show concern over injured or weak family members.

Police use social networking to nab criminals

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – According to published reports, it was a bold, suspected killer messaging details on Facebook that led cops to their man.

Police are now following social networking sites very closely to catch illegal activity or even tips.

“The digitization of technology and information has really arrived to what I call a conversational footprint,” said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill.

It’s the latest way to fight crime and likely why 28-year-old Thomas Kumalac is behind bars accused of murdering 25-year-old Jessica Jenson and stuffing her body under a Salt Lake motel bed.

According to published reports, Facebook messages sent between Kumalac and his girlfriend discussed their involvement in the murder and were turned over to police by her estranged husband. This is just one example of how authorities are using modern day social networking sites to catch their criminals.

“It's a space where transactions are occurring. That's where conversations are occurring. As we become an information society that's where we interact with other people and it becomes our social domain,” said Gill.

Reports say a search warrant explained that revealed Facebook messages detailed the couples’ involvement in the murder. This kind of social media information gathering is becoming the norm for police. They can even trace illegal transactions from tweets and wall posts.

“It's a new era, it's the 21st century. We're an information society and that is where we live. And often that is where we boast and often where we commit crimes,” said Gill.

Kumalac is charged with murder and obstruction of Justice.

Facebook Reaches 750 Million Users Milestone, Still Counting!

From a dorm room experiment to the world’s most popular social networking networking , Facebook has evolved dramatically over years. There was a time when at 500 million users Facebook was considered the epitome of social networking.

The company has climbed over that, and reportedly had as many as 600 million users in the first quarter of this year. However, thousands of users have been joining Facebook daily on a global scale, and that ushered Facebook towards a new milestone where it is just 250 million users short of boasting a 1 billion users data base.

Facebook Corporation disclosed that it has over 750 million users now. It also announced a feature upgrade for Facebook chat which now brings Skype-powered video calling. This will enable Facebook users to chat with their friends face-to-face over Facebook Skype chat.

Skype and Facebook have partnered to deliver this feature. By the way of a browser add-on users can video chat on Facebook over Skype with their Facebook Friends. Although, the company did not specify the list of browsers that will support the add-on, almost all major browsers should be recorded in the list. Another feature that Facebook rolled out is the multi-person chat. Besides this, the chat feature sports a revamped look and a much decent interface. The announcement of video chat service is seen as a move to counter the popularity of Google’s very own social network called Google+ which also allows video chatting with its +Hangouts feature.

From 2004 to 2011, the company has attained 750 million users. It is believed that Facebook will soon reach the 1 billion users milestone provided the new kid on the block (yeah, you guessed it) Google+ doesn’t play spoil sport for FB.

Google+ is expected to compete head-on with Facebook . It’s fresh new approach towards online social networking and modular feature set is expected to considerably effect Facebook, especially since all Google Profiles that are private will be deleted after July 31st and users will be coerced into making their profile public, and endorsing them as a part of the Google+ social network.

It is worth noting that Facebook may very well boast about its 750 million user base, but a considerable part of it may be dormant users and some users may have multiple FB profiles with different names, so the exact number of active users on Facebook seems to be a little obscure to us.

If Facebook continues to integrate its services with different platforms providing promotional means of Facebook Sign-up and Facebook Log-in at the plethora of websites and services on the web, it will constructively affect the Facebook user base which may soon be over a billion users. Until that happens, this milestone is certainly worth a thousand celebrations for Facebook, and a moment of pride for loyal Facebook Users.

The Importance of Clear Communication in a Relationship

Relationships can only be solidly built on clear communication. Frustration presents itself when there is no confidential talk. Everyday we think of things that may concern us and it's so important to be able to communicate that to our mates or partners clearly. Many relationships are destroyed because one or the other cannot clearly communicate.

There are those in a relationship that would welcome to talk things out however their mate would rather not. How can anything be solved without clear communication? If there are issues or something that could be as trouble-free as paying bills, buying clothes, purchasing a home or car. How would something as simple as this become frustrating; because clear communication is missing?

A relationship consists of two people; if you want your relationship to be successful you must be able to have clear communication with one another. Such simple topics could be easily taken care of by clear communication. Learning to clearly communicate will in reality enhance your relationship and it does work but it takes time and patience.

One of the most frustrating issues in a marriage or any type of relationship is not being able to communicate. If you ask most couples that have had a marriage fail, they will tell you they just stopped talking. Like with anything if you don't use it you loose it. Many misunderstandings are caused by a lack of clear communication.

Couples may go for days hurt and or not speaking only to find out what you thought happened never really happened. Lots of us take things said as a personal attack, or will assume our mates has insinuated one thing when all along it was not that serious to them and they meant something different. However, we took it the wrong way; clear communication would have cleared the situation up instantly. Nearly all of the time what is needed is clear communication and all parties would have a lucid understanding of how both feel. The majority of the time due to a lack of communication something so small turns into something larger and goes somewhere it really shouldn't. Clear communication is so essential to ending and resolving in a very short time misunderstandings.

The bottom line is; you cannot have a relationship without clear communication. Some are not natural communicators. Work on it within your relationship and see how you can have a long and happy relationship with long lasting communication and understanding. Anything worth keeping is worth working for. No one can be successful in any element of life without clear communication. Make your relationship worth it by continuously working on keeping that line of communication open and clear.

Monaco royal wedding: The world watches as the regal couple seal their love

If the civil service was an intimate union of husband and wife in front of nearest and dearest, then Saturday's religious ceremony was a chance for Monaco to invite a global audience to salute their new sovereign princess.

All eyes were on the newly-created Princess Charlene as she made her way across a red carpet in the Cour d'Honneur, the royal palace's main courtyard, on the arm of her proud father Michael Wittstock.

Taking her hand, the gruff South African - who was famously reluctant to take a call from Prince Albert asking for her hand because his attention was on the football World Cup- reassured his daughter as the took the four-minute walk to the altar.

The courtyard had been turned into an open-air cathedral, where Monseigneur Bernard Barsi, Archbishop of Monaco, was to conduct a Catholic wedding mass consecrating her marriage to the Monegasque sovereign.

With her head ever so slightly bowed, but with a composed smile on her face, the 33-year-old, who was raised thousands of miles away in a humble South African family, looked like she had been born to the role.

Watching her every step intently were the 3,500-strong congregation; plus 800 more celebrities, royals and family members who had been ushered into the inner courtyard.

And millions more – watching on TV screens and through the internet across the globe - witnessed her life-changing journey down the red carpet.

Spectacular train

There were gasps from the attendees as they took in her breathtaking appearance – her gorgeous Armani dress, with its spectacular train, and her hair which was gathered at the nape with a jewelled headpiece.

A version of Paul McCartney's Standing Stone was sung by a soprano as Charlene - once an athlete, now one of the most closely followed newcomers on the royal scene - glided to stand before her prince.

Albert, dignified in his white uniform of the Carabineer guards, awaited her at the 17th-century Carrara marble double staircase. He took his bride's hand briefly, as if to reassure her before the service began.

While her glacial beauty recalls Princess Grace and her poise will obviously be compared to her dazzling predecessor, the couple want to write their own story.

In 1956 it was Albert's mother waiting for Rainier III because, as the head of the principality he made his entrance last. On Saturday this tradition had been overturned reflecting modern times. And in another gesture showing the partnership of equals, the South African flag flew high above the palace.

The couple had wanted the largest number of guests possible to share in their big day, hence they chose to conduct proceedings in the courtyard, rather than in the palace's cathedral, which can only hold 500 people.

Items from the chapel had been moved outside, such as the cross, the altar, and two chairs and kneelers for the bride and groom.

A temporary roof had been put in place to offer some shade. Still temperatures rose, causing many guests to use their order of services as a makeshift fan.

Famous faces taking their seats included Albert's former girlfriend Naomi Campbell and fashion kaiser Karl Lagerfeld.

Foreign royals included Sweden's Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sonja and their younger daughter Princess Madeleine.

Denmark's Princess Mary and Prince Frederik were also joined by Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Princess Maxima.

Representing Britain were the Earl and Countess of Wessex

Charlene was supported by her matrons of honour - fashion designer Isabell Kristensen and Donatella Knecht de Massy, Albert’s cousin – both of whom planned her New York hen party.

She was also joined by six bridesmaids – children of residents of Monaco and the surrounding communities.

The cute group of youngsters were dressed in traditional costume

Providing the musical accompaniment throughout the service were the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Monte-Carlo opera Chorus – who were joined by some renowned international soloists – and the Monaco's cathedral choir and Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco..

The boys' choir – made up of around 30 boys aged between nine and 15 – was originally founded in 1974 by Albert's father Prince Rainier III.

The mass was celebrated in French, English and Afrikaans.

Readings were done by Pauline Ducruet. – Princess Stephanie's eldest girl, and Charlotte Casiraghi – Caroline's daughter.

Charlotte read the first letter of St John in French. "If we love one another God remains in us and his love is brought to perfection in us," she read to the congregation.

The Archbishop gave his homily, saying: "We thank God for helping a great love grow in the heart of these two people."

He added: "May god allow them to live hapilly and to old age together."

Then a message came from Pope Benedict, who had - the Archbishop said - written to the couple to say: "he is with you spiritually, he is praying for you".

Exchanging vows

This began with a statement of belief - Charlene and Albert were asked to renounce all evil and state their belief in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

The Archbishop invited the witnesses to take their place beside the couple, before they were invited to state their intentions - that they came freely to be joined as husband and wife.

As they joined hands, they were asked if they would love and cherish each other till the end of their days. The answer of course was "oui".

After blessing of the rings, Albert was the first to put a ring on Charlene's finger.

Then it was the princess' turn. "Take this ring, it is a sign of your love and fidelity to Albert," said the Archbishop. Trying to persuade the slightly reluctant ring onto his finger, the bride'sbroke into a grin, and she laughed.

The couple were then serenaded with The Click Song - a South African song of Xhosa people, sung at weddings to bring good fortune.

The Eucharistic prayer was followed by Motzart's Sanctus, then the bread and wine was blessed in preparation for the giving of Holy Communion.

Charlene pulled back her veil for the first time when it came to the part of the mass to offer peace to fellow congregation members. She did so to give Albert a brief kiss.

After communion and the blessings, famed tenor Andrea Bocelli sang Ave Maria for the newlyweds

The couple then signed the marriage register in the palace chapel, with the same gem-incrusted Montblanc pen they used in the civil ceremony the day before.

Symphony No 3 in C minor, Opus 78, by Camille Saint-Saens brought proceedings to a close as the couple made their way back through the courtyard.

Deep emotion

Charlene's face broke into a radiant smile for a moment as she re-emerged with her husband, her arm linked through his. For most of the service she had cast her eyes downwards, as if trying to compose herself.

It seemed the scale and seriousness of the event had overwhelmed her - and the new princess only allowed herself to show her emotion later on, when she shed a tear while offering her bouquet in the Saint Devota Church.

There was a huge round of applause as they entered the main square of the palace, to be showered in petals.
